At the same time we find out about a drug that destroys your brain, Big Pharma begins promoting a drug that can reduce your risk for Alzheimers. You may have heard some of the latest ads trying to get you to take more ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin).
Why would they tell you to take ibuprofen to prevent Alzheimers? A study published in Neurology followed almost 250,000 veterans over five years. Those who regularly took the drug were 40% less likely to get the disease. And, in past studies, ibuprofen has reduced Alzheimers-like protein deposits in the brain of lab animals.
Whats interesting is that the latest study comes on the heels of another anti-inflammatory drug report actually reversing Alzheimers. I showed you on page 1 how the drug Enbrel can reverse apparent dementia in minutes, like throwing a switch. Enbrel is a very powerful blocker of some of the strongest inflammatory chemicals made by your immune system.
What you should learn from this is not which drugs stop Alzheimers. Its that theres a clear connection between Alzheimers and inflammation. The real question is, What might be causing the inflammation? And next: How can you stop and prevent it?
Well, one presenter at the American College for Advancement in Medicine found Lyme organism traces in 100% of the afflicted brains he examined. Does that mean that the cause is Lyme? Not necessarily. However, it certainly provides a pathway to inflammation. Many other organisms, improper diet, and lifestyle can do the same.
So instead of using drugs, take a look at all the great alternatives that could offer you protection.
One of the best is Seanol, a bioflavonoid found in brown seaweed. Why does it work? Its a powerful anti-inflammatory molecule. It benefits your whole body. And best of all, theres no toxicity like you will find with ibuprofen. Seanol compounds can easily neutralize peroxynitrite (neurotoxic free radical).
But that is not the only reason. Memory is dependent on the neurotransmitter acetylcholine. Seanol increased acetylcholine in rodents by 140% in their brain regions responsible for learning and memory. And it did this after they took it for just seven days. But its power is even more fantastic than that.
NIH scientists at aging research labs in Baltimore studied Seanol in rats. They found it inhibits beta-amyloid deposition in their brains. (Remember, that is the nasty stuff that accumulates in Alzheimers brains.) These rats also learned maze challenges faster. That shows improvement in short-term memory, so vulnerable in cognitive decline.
Your carotid artery feeds your brain. Dr. Lees (Seanols discoverer) group found that Seanol can increase the velocity of blood flow in this important artery from an average of 36.68 cm/sec. to 40.09 cm/sec. The placebo showed no improvement. An EEG study on brain waves on healthy middle-age volunteers found that Seanol compounds increase alpha waves. Alpha waves are an indicator of relaxation. So these are good indications that Seanol is relaxing the blood vessels and balancing your brains activity.
God gave us incredible phytochemicals to help us ward off disease and keep us healthy. If you are concerned about Alzheimers or vascular disease, plant-derived compounds are your best bet for effectiveness and 100% safety. And Seanol is one of the best.
Seanol is available as FibroBoost from Advanced Bionutritionals (800-728-2288). I recommend you take two, three times daily. Ref: Neurology, May 6, 2008.
