If you have hypertension, you will love the latest research from Vanderbilt University. The researchers in this study reviewed the medical literature and found that three minerals are vital for keeping your blood pressure under control.
In the study, the reviewers looked for studies with clinical trial evidence and mechanism of action. So their conclusions are based on sound scientific evidence.
What did they find? The three nutrients that play the biggest role in managing blood pressure are potassium, magnesium, and calcium. They found that potassium plays the biggest role. But taking all three is vital.
This is not surprising news. Potassium and magnesium regulate your parasympathetic nervous system. That part of your nervous system relaxes your body, compared to the sympathetic part. The latter fuels your adrenaline, a blood pressure stress. If you have high blood pressure, you must eat foods and take supplements that help your body relax. Even the researchers agree that the best way to do this is to eat plenty of fruits and veggies. Next, add some potassium, magnesium, and calcium to your supplement regimen.
