NSAIDS, such as Motrin, are among the most widely used petrochemical pharmaceuticals of all time. All classes of NSAIDs increase heart attack risk. But if the risk of heart attack is not enough for you to stop or avoid NSAID drugs, then perhaps this is: A new study says the drugs can attack your sex life as well.
Researchers from Finland followed 1,126 men who were taking NSAIDs. The University team followed the group for NSAID use, arthritis symptoms, and erectile dysfunction. They controlled for the risk of arthritis separately. In doing so, they were able to eliminate arthritis itself as a factor in subsequent development of ED. They found that if you do not have arthritis, yet use NSAIDs, your risk of ED doubles. But if you have arthritis and use NSAIDs, your risk of ED goes up by 240%!
The authors were convinced that arthritis itself was not the culprit. They believe that NSAIDs interfere with prostaglandin metabolism. That can lead to a dysfunction in nitric oxide (NO) production. NO is the chemical dilator of the penile artery. Viagra works by increasing NO.
This is a terrific pyramid scam for Big Pharma. First they sell you on NSAIDs, which lead to ED. Then they sell you on a drug for ED (such as Viagra) to offset the NSAID toxicity.
If heart attacks are not enough to convince you to avoid this class of biological poisons, perhaps wrecking your sex life will. Look to products containing ginger, curcumin, bioflavonoids, and proteolytic enzymes as an alternative to NSAIDs. I like two products by Healthy Resolve: Advanced Joint Support and FibroBoost. They offer ways to ease your pain with the natural stuff your body needs to modulate inflammation. And the anti-inflammatory flavonoids in FibroBoost go a step further. They beat Viagra at its own game, giving you a 2-for-1 deal.
